So, after scoring 595/8 declared in their first innings, Bangladesh lost by 8 wickets, and knocked Australia off the top spot (and the second) for the highest first innings total in a loss.
Bit of a shame actually, because they really did bat well in their first innings on an admittedly deceptively docile track, and they lost a couple to injury, but it was a pretty good test match.

The Indian fast bowlers were better than usual in the England series but the particular type of finger spin that Ashwin and especially Jadeja bowl is pretty much fodder elsewhere. No other countries seem to be able to bowl like they do on their wickets and their batsmen are just better at facing spin.

India's bowlers are basically pretty wank away from their groundsman, so that won't happen regardless of their batsman.

Good final day developing at the Basin this morning.
If Bangladesh lose, I believe they will set a record for the highest first innings total in a loss.
Bangladesh 100/5, lead of 156
Imrul Kayes unlikely to bat due to injury and Mushfiqur Rahim batting now with a broken finger and getting a working over from Wagner.

Kohli for me is the best cricketer in the world.
Love the blokes attitude as well.

That's like picking out Joe Root's Test average in Australia Or New Zealand Or Bangladesh and judging him on that.

India have only played one Test at Headingley in 30 years. Probably because Tendulkar , Dravid and Ganguly all made centuries and they smashed England by an innings.

Kohli is a flat track bully.
Get him on a green seamer at Headingly and he bats like Phil Tufnell.

Small ground flat pitch Usually need Kohli to do something stupid to beat India in that case.

Don't think we have good enough bowlers full stop Sven and desperately need to unearth some, though broad should probably be in there.
Anderson is too old and injury prone to play all the formats now.
Guessing topley is still injured.

Can't blame the bowlers for this deck it's as flat as a pancake. Fair play India if they chase this down.

All well and good having a long batting line up, but fairly pointless when it leaves us with this set of bowlers.

Adil Rashid would be nowhere near this England team if he didn't play for Yorkshire.
